Illustrators
Hall of Fame The following
authors or illustrators have contributed to Spigot Science
Magazine. We thank them!
David Cochran, EdD, has enjoyed writing all his life.
He has written several books on educational technology and
many articles for educational journals. He started
writing for publication in high school and college where he
was the sports editor for the school newspapers. Now
he's very interested in writing for kids. He and
Valeria Girandola started Spigot so they could write
articles to help kids learn how science connects with
everything in our lives. He is a staff writer for
Spigot, which means that he writes many of the articles
about science and math.
Valeria B. Girandola, MSEd, has
been writing stories, poems, articles, newsletters, lesson
plans, unit plans, curriculum development, strategies and
activities throughout her years of teaching. Now it’s
Spigot time…a special project for teachers and students to
enrich and enhance classroom learning. She is a staff
writer, publisher, and editor-in-chief at Spigot and writes
many of the articles, stories, poems, strategies and
activities for the magazine. Rebecca
Creswell is a librarian in Bridgewater-Raritan School
District in New Jersey. She is very interested in
gargoyles and adapted an ideas she had for a book to the
article she wrote for Spigot.

Eileen Peluso is a lawyer and former teacher in the
Trenton, NJ, school system. She loves writing for children
and often entertains with her clever and witty poems written
for special occasions.

Patricia Richwine, PhD, is a former
Curriculum Director and Associate Professor at Georgian
Court University. She serves on the Spigot Virtual
Advisory Board. Her specialty is children's
