The Universe is huge,
gigantic, enormous. None of us can
imagine how vast it is. In this issue
we look at the Universe in many different ways:
- the many objects in the universe
- stars, planets, asteroids, etc.
- how we are searching for new planets.
- the countries sending people to the moon.
- the big numbers we talk about with space
- art and the cosmos
- how we learn about space
- and much more.
We hope you enjoy SPIGOT and tell all your
friends about it.

Gravity Rap
by David W. Cochran
If it’s going up, then it’s coming
down,
You know there’s got to be some gravity around.
It holds those planets in their place.
Not just here - all over space.
It’s got a grip on stars and planets, too.
Even keeps the elephants on the ground in the zoo.
Gravity, you can’t see it, but you know it’s there.
All you have to do is jump up in the air.
You can’t go too high, ‘cause you’ll come right
down.
That’s how you know there’s some gravity around.
It keeps those asteroids and comets right on track.
They circle around, and then they come right back.
You can get away from gravity, but it’s not easy.
You’ve got to go so fast. It’ll make your stomach
queasy.
But once you get away from Earth’s gravitational
pull,
You’ll coast through space like a flying fool.
But watch out for the next place though
Gravity will get you and down you go.
Gra-vi-ty, gra-vi-ty
It’s got its ups and downs as you will see.
So jump up in the air and kick your feet.
Gravity will pull you down without missing a beat.
